Thursday, a woman received her sentence for stealing money from a McDonald Schools’ parent fund.
Stephanie Hilbun was sentenced to five years of probation.
Hilbun pleaded guilty last month to taking more than $8,000 from the McDonald Parent Educator Group while she served as the group’s treasurer.
Hilbun was emotional during her sentencing.
“Your honor, I am truly sorry for what I have done. I took the money with the intent to pay it back,” she said. “It was a big mistake — a mistake that I regret and that I have to live with the rest of my life. I let down the organization, the school, the students, my family, and especially, my kids.”
As part of her sentence, Hilbun also has to pay back the money that she stole.
