BEAVER Twp., Ohio (WKBN) – The Boardman Optimist Club held its Celebrity Showdown Chili Cookoff Wednesday evening.

More than a dozen celebrity chefs served up their secret recipes for votes. The goal was simple, fill the ballot box with as many votes as possible.

WKBN reporter Gerry Ricciutti was last year’s media winner.

This year, there’s a new competition: Battle of the Broadcasters. Ricciutti, Sports Team 27’s Josh Frketic and WKBN meteorologist Ryan Halicki went head-to-head.

WKBN evening anchor Lindsey Watson emceed the event for the second year in a row.

Halicki won Battle of the Broadcasters and Favorite Celebrity while Frketic won Hottest Chili.

Other winners included Michael Rulli for Most Original, Al Cutrona for Favorite Political and Anthony Traficanti for Best of the Chili Cookoff.

All of the money raised at the chili cookoff goes directly to the Optimist Club to then invest in local kids.

The event took place at Avion on the Water Banquet Center in Beaver Township.
