White House Fruit Farm holds 5K, kids’ run in support of local veterans

Local News

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – It may have been a little chilly for some, but for runners, it was the perfect temperature.

People ran through the orchards and fields at White House Fruit Farm Saturday morning in a 5K that benefits local veterans.

There was a race for the kids, too, that ended with each of them getting a free donut.

If you didn’t want to run, you didn’t have to. There was also a basket raffle.

Organizers said the temperature was beautiful for running.

“Spring is beautiful on the farm. We have apple blossoms blooming. We have blueberries blooming, and so, just like to share that with the community. You can come on and get a little behind the scenes. You can see where the orchards and fields are,” said Event Coordinator Kim Sisco.

Proceeds from Saturday’s race go toward the Youngstown VA Outpatient Clinic’s Food Bank.
