(WKBN) - The Western Reserve Port Authority met Wednesday morning for its committee meeting to talk about economics and aviation.
Executive Director John Moliterno says the search is still ongoing for an airport director. There aren't any candidates for the job as of yet.
As for getting an airline flying out of Youngstown, Moliterno says the conversations are happening weekly.
"We will get an airline or airlines flying out of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, hopefully, yet this year," Moliterno said.
At this time, the Port Authority is looking at destinations that are closer to the Valley -- out on the east coast or more out to the Midwest near Chicago.
