(WKBN) – Pennsylvania American Water customers in portions of the City of New Castle, South New Castle Borough, Union Township, Shenango Township, Hickory Township, Neshannock Township and Mahoning Township no longer need to boil their water before use or take any additional precautions.

Acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25.

The boil water advisory was issued Nov. 22, 2020, due to a loss in positive water pressure at water storage tanks in Union Township and Neshannock Township following a 12-inch water main break. The broken main was repaired, and tank levels have returned to normal.

Pennsylvania American Water thanks its customers for their patience and cooperation during this event. For more information, contact Pennsylvania American Water’s customer service center at (800) 565-7292.
