Warren police: Suspects made man strip during robbery

Madelyn Jenkins and Arthur Stoutamire are charged with aggravated robbery

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) - A Cleveland woman and Warren man are facing charges, accused of making a man strip down to his underwear while robbing him.

The victim, a 30-year-old Warren man, went to the Naus Club on Friday night to report that he had been robbed, according to a police report. Police said the victim was wearing only his underwear.

The man told police that the suspects -- 26-year-old Madelyn Jenkins and 30-year-old Arthur Stoutamire -- pointed a gun at him and told him to strip his clothes off and put them on the hood of a vehicle.

He said the robbery happened in the 200 block of Vermont Ave. NW, according to the report.

While officers were looking for the vehicle that the suspects had been driving, they found one matching the description with a pile of clothes on the hood. Police found Jenkins ducked down in the passenger seat of the car, the report stated.

Jenkins told police she had been robbed, but she was arrested due to the victim's earlier statement identifying her as the suspect.

Stoutamire was arrested inside of a house on Vermont Avenue NW. Police said he had a bullet in his pocket, which was collected as evidence.

Stoutamire and Jenkins are being held in the Trumbull County Jail on aggravated robbery charges.

Police said Jenkins faces additional charges because she was hiding an unknown powder substance in her body cavity. The substance was discovered at the jail.
