WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police are investigating a reported home invasion in Warren in which $200 in cash was taken.
A 40-year-old man reported that three men forced their way into his apartment in the 1100 block of Taylor Street.
It happened around 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, according to a police report.
The victim told police that he was sleeping when he heard a knock on his door. He said an unknown man standing at the door told him, “My dad used to work on your car.”
The victim said he told the man, “I don’t know you from Adam and Eve,” and said he then closed the door and the man left.
The report states that the man returned a few minutes later, again knocking on the door. The victim said he opened the door to tell the man to leave when two other men rushed inside and attacked him.
He said one of the men picked him up and slammed him while the other hit him in the head with a gun. A bullet fell out of the gun, which he described as a revolver, according to a police report.
The victim said he then fell into the window, breaking it and setting off an alarm.
The victim told police that while this was happening, the man who originally knocked on the door was going through his things. The police report indicates that $200 was taken.
All of the intruders took off when the alarm started going off, according to the report.
Police noted that the victim had a large knot of his forehead and cuts on his face, A bullet was found on the floor.
A police report did not give a detailed description of the men.
