WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Easter holiday came a few days early for thousands of people in Warren.
The 21st annual Easter meal hosted by the Warren Family Mission happened on Friday.
Dozens lined up for a dinner of ham with all the trimmings.
Organizers said the event wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of local community members who donate all of the food, and volunteer their time to prepare and serve the meal.
“It takes a lot of effort, a lot of planning. We’re definitely thankful for the continued wave of support that we’ve seen from the community through these trying times that we face together because we’re really all in this together,” Dominic Mararri said.
Organizers said they served 3,040 meals — 840 at the facility on Tod Avenue, 927 taken to go and 1,213 through home delivery.
Several paramedics helped deliver meals in their ambulances. They were even able to take 60 meals home for themselves.
