Local News

A small town in Lawrence County is receiving some big recognition.

Volant was recently named the “Best Small Town of Pennsylvania” by Insider.com.

According to a press release, the town features more than 25 specialty shops that line Main Street, including restaurants, wineries, a distillery. It is also surrounded by an Amish community and a fly fishing stream.

The website cited these unique features and the town’s yearly activities for visitors as the reason for their pick.

“Although the town is home to mostly the Amish, it’s a perfect place to visit and experience the Amish lifestyle and quaint community,” said Insider.com in the article.

Volant’s shops are open daily, but there are some closures in the winter.
