Veterans of the Vietnam War were recognized in Austintown on Friday.
Given special recognition was local veteran Clinton Floyd. He was wounded in Vietnam and continues to suffer from the effects of Agent Orange.
He was presented with a proclamation and a flag that flew in Washington.
The thousands of other men and women who lost their lives in that conflict were also remembered.
“Vietnam was the unpopular war. We lost so many people. These people didn’t come home as in past wars as heroes. They were chided, oftentimes. They were forgotten about, and today was an opportunity for Greenwood Chevrolet to honor these veterans,” said John Batcho, sales executive at Greenwood Chevrolet.
The Noble Brothers band sang patriotic songs and the National Anthem. You can see that here.
