After nine tries, one lucky and charitable winner won a Chevy Cruze from Greenwood Chevrolet Thursday night.
Her name is Kathy Grizinski. She is one of 10 people who were chosen at random from 1,100 eligible United Way donors who gave a certain amount in the non-profit’s 2018 campaign.
Donors for the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley and the United Way of Trumbull County participated.
The 10 finalists were given a key to try and start the Cruze. Grizinski was the ninth person to try and whose key was the lucky winner.
She had a choice between taking the Lordstown-built Cruze or $15,000. She says choosing the car was a no-brainer.
“It’s locally made. It’s a great car and I want to support local, our locally made products. So, I’m taking the car.”
This is the ninth year United Way and Greenwood Chevy have teamed up to give away a Cruze.
Owner Greg Greenwood says it may be a while until they can give away a brand-new Cruze because of the plant shutdown.
