Officers raided a drug house in Niles on Thursday morning, arresting one man in connection with it.

The Niles Police Drug Unit and Trumbull Ashtabula Group (TAG) Task Force searched 519 N. Bentley Avenue.

They got the warrant after a joint months-long investigation into drug trafficking at the house, which TAG said was “known to sell crack cocaine.” Officers said they bought crack there undercover.

Raymel Adams, 39, was arrested on a warrant for drug possession out of Warren and taken to the Trumbull County Jail. Officials say this was his house.

Investigators said they found one gram of an unknown gray powder believed to be heroin or fentanyl, marijuana, a scale, packaging material and over $5,000 cash.

“These investigations take time, you know, the gathering of intel that we need to start our investigation takes time but we like when neighbors call in,” said Capt. Tony Villanueva, a TAG commander.

Two of Adams’ cars were also seized as part of the investigation.

Additional charges are pending.
