TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) – Health officials in Trumbull County have recorded a rise in drug overdose deaths so far this year.
The latest numbers released Wednesday show 27 cases through March 13. During the same period last year, there were 11 drug overdose deaths.
Through the same period in March 2017, there were also 27 cases.
The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office’s chief forensic investigator, Kathy Meszaros, said there are five additional cases of suspected drug overdoses in March, but a ruling hasn’t been issued on those deaths yet.
The overdose victims range in age from 33 to 64. They were reported across Trumbull County and often involved a combination of drugs or fentanyl.
