Troopers are investigating what was reported as a “road rage” incident on Route 82 in Howland.
It happened just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the westbound lanes of Route 82, near the Elm Road exit.
Troopers say one of the drivers claimed that they were cut off between the Route 46 and Market Street exit and needed to brake.
Investigators say it continued, and one of the drivers tried passing the other vehicle when then other vehicle did a lane change, causing a minor accident between the two.
“Both parties are saying it was the other party’s fault, so that’s why we consult with the prosecutor’s office to determine what charge is going to be appropriate, if there is going to be a charge,” said Highway Patrol Lt. Brian Vail.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges have yet to be filed.
