Tractor-trailer hits guardrail, flips over on I-79 in Mercer County

The driver of a tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital after a crash Thursday morning on Interstate 79 in Mercer County.

It happened just before 9 a.m. near Millbrook Road.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Christopher Peche, 41, was traveling southbound on I-79 when he struck a guardrail. The tractor-trailer that he was driving then was pushed off of the roadway into the center median, where it rolled over.

The tractor-trailer ended up blocking the left lane for several hours.

Peche complained of head and back injuries when he was taken to the hospital. Police said the severity of his injuries is unknown.
