Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Youngstown Saturday afternoon as the very first rally was held for Congressman Tim Ryan after he announced he will run for president.
“I will tell you that if there is one value that I will bring to the highest office in the land, when I wake up, it’s gonna be how today can I use every ounce of power that this office has to help ordinary people do something extraordinary today in America,” Ryan told his crowd of supporters.
Ryan’s wife, Andrea, said she was not surprised when she found out that he would run.
“Probably about 10 years ago, we started dating and we kind of started talking about, ‘What are your aspirations? Where do you see yourself in five years?’ He started talking around governor and this and that, and I just had a feeling he would stick with the federal government, and I just had a feeling that he would run for president one day, and here we are,” she said.
She said she believes that her husband will take the victory.
“I see him winning, that’s what I see. I see the White House,” she said.
