Three Trumbull County school districts decide to push back start date

All three districts are offering families in-person and remote learning options

TRUMBULL CO., Ohio (WKBN) – Three school districts in Trumbull County are pushing back their first day of school.

Liberty Local Schools was supposed to start Monday, Aug. 31. Now the first day of school will be Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Hubbard students were scheduled to return Tuesday, Aug. 25, but the first day of school has been pushed back to Monday, Aug. 31.

At Mathews Schools, there will be a Wednesday, Sept. 2 staggered start for grades 1-6 (half of the students come Sept. 2, the other half will come on Sept. 3). All students in grades 1-6 will come to school Friday, Sept. 4. Kindergarten students will also have a staggered start over three days beginning Sept. 2. High school students (grades 7-12) will all start Sept. 2.
