Students place pinwheels in Warren, raising awareness for child abuse

Local News

A group of Touch of Class 4-H students helped raise awareness for child neglect in Trumbull County on Sunday.

The students placed pinwheels in the ground outside of city hall in Warren. Each wheel represented the number of reported child abuse cases in the county.

The total count was 1,844 in 2018.

“It just gives a visual representation of how many, and when you drive by, it’s like ‘Wow, that’s too many,’ said Kiersten Tricker, president of Touch of Class 4-H.

The group chose city hall because it is close to the court house. Through awareness, the group hopes that the number continues to decrease in the future.
