STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) - An animal rescue in Struthers has some new arrivals from a severe animal cruelty case out of West Virginia.
New Lease on Life was contacted by Huntington Animal Control in West Virginia about taking in seven dogs involved in the case.
A West Virginia man faces 26 charges after investigators found these dogs and 24 other animals living in deplorable conditions. Many of the animals died from malnutrition.
New Lease on Life took in 15 dogs after the situation. These dogs are now ready to be adopted.
"Three have already been adopted out of the group of seven, and then we took eight from their general population to make room for more dogs from that situation," said Maria Guyan, director of New Lease on Life.
If you would like to adopt one of these dogs, visit the the shelter on E Midlothian Boulevard. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
