“Sitting may be the new smoking,” Mercy Health holds program on movement

Mercy Health in Youngstown is holding an education program for the dangers of sitting.

Mercy says sitting may be the new smoking and Americans sit for about 10 hours every day.

“Movement: Essential for Aging Well,” will be put on as part of the Women in Touch program.

The program will be held twice from 5 – 7 p.m. on May 7 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room in Warren and on May 21 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.

Nurses, dieticians, and dietic technicians will earn continuing education credits for their attendance.

Registration and dinner will be at 5 p.m. and the program will start at 5:45.

Cost for the program is $20 and reservations are required. To register, call 330-480-3070.
