SALEM TWP., Ohio (WKBN) — Police and fire crews were called to the scene of a crash that sent two people to the hospital.
The crash happened at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday in Salem Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that a 39-year-old Wellsville man driving a van ran a stop sign at the intersection of Routes 45 and 558, crashing into a truck.
The force caused both vehicles to go over a guard rail, crashing into it as well as some nearby trees.
Authorities say medical helicopters were called to fly both drivers to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
The driver of the truck has serious injuries and was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to an OSHP report.
No charges have yet been filed but reports state the driver of the van will be found at fault.
