A portion of Route 88 in Vernon Township was closed for several hours after a vehicle flipped over.
The accident happened at about 2:30 a.m. Friday near Camp Sugarbush.
The 16-year-old driver wasn’t seriously injured. According to the Burghill Vernon Fire Department, he reported that he fell asleep while driving.
The vehicle went airborne after the crash, hitting a tree and landing on its roof.
The teen walked away with only minor injuries, according to the fire department. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Route 88 was closed at Bushnell Campbell Road for about 4 hours.
The Trumbull Sherrif’s Office is investigating.
