Rayjzon Sams, charged with drug trafficking in Campbell

CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – A man was charged in Campbell on Wednesday after police reported finding drugs on him and in his vehicle.

According to a police report, Rayjzon Sams, 26, of New Castle, was pulled over for speeding on Coitsville Road at 11:13 p.m.

Police said Sams had a warrant out of New Castle and was driving under a license suspension. When asked to get out of the car, Sams dropped a bag of marijuana on the road, saying he had nothing else on him, according to police.

The report said police also found $790 and a cell phone in Sams’ pockets. A scale with a white powder substance was also found in the vehicle, police say.

Police said they found more of the white substance on the floor of the police cruiser after Sams was placed in the back seat. When asked where the rest was, Sams told police that he ate it.

According to police, there was a white substance on the suspect’s shoes. Sams became angry when officers tried to remove his shoes and socks. The report said he started stomping his feet, crushing the substance and yelling for officers to tase him.

Police reported finding the white substance in one sock and a THC cartridge in the other.

Sams was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence, speeding and driving under suspension.
