Parents from Austintown are in the Mahoning County Jail, being held on child endangering charges.
Police said Jonathan and Tommie Trent were charged after suspected drug overdoses on Wednesday night, which was reported by their 11-year-old son.
Officers were sent to their Maplecrest Drive home where Jonathan was found unresponsive in an upstairs bedroom while Tommie was found in a bathroom.
They were given the opioid-reversal drug Narcan and were taken to the hospital.
Police said Jonathan admitted to snorting heroin, but Tommie denied any drug use, saying she must have had a seizure.
Officers were unable to find drug items in the home.
Police said the child, who found his parents, was very upset about the situation. He was taken to a neighbor’s house until an out-of-town relative could take him.
Children Services was also contacted.
