YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A celebration of recovery and support took place in Youngstown Friday.

Dozens of people gathered at Wick Park for the Yo We Recovery Rally.

Resources were available and stories of strength and resilience were shared.

“It’s been an incredibly beautiful journey, even the rough spots,” said speaker Kim Scotchie.

Youngstown State University took part. There were resources for housing needs, mental health and substance abuse treatment, health care resources and more.

“There are people that have come through some of the resources that are here today. And all of the resource tables, a lot of them are people who have gone through that treatment program and now are behind the table trying to encourage other people. What that shows us is that recovery is possible,” said Samantha Naples, community outreach manager for Brightview Health in Mahoning County.

This is the first rally since starting back up after taking a break the past few years.

Naples says anyone who may need help with recovery or access to resources can visit relink.org.
