YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN)- Humane agents were called to a disturbing site on Thursday when they found a dead puppy in a lunch cooler in Youngstown.
A woman found the animal while she was walking near a playground on the South Side of Youngstown and called for help.
Investigators say the puppy only weighed two pounds and was probably only a couple of weeks old when it died.
Agents are trying to compare the case with others. It’s not the first time animals were left in small containers and dumped this way.
“Oftentimes, we look at certain things, but most of the time in these circumstances, unless somebody steps forward as a witness, there’s not much that can be done,” said Jane MacMurchy with Animal Charity of Ohio.
“Humanity is at an all-time low. This little one never had a chance at life. No couch to sleep on, no kids to play with, no long walks in the park. Rest in peace little one, we hope you are having the time of your life in heaven,” Animal Charity wrote on its Facebook page.
