Brandon Shavor, charged with domestic violence and felonious assault in Boardman.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Struthers man was arrested Saturday after a pregnant woman reported that he attacked her and threw drain cleaner in her eyes.

It happened at the Days Inn on South Avenue, according to a police report.

Police said the victim was crying when they arrived and was holding her face in her hands. She had a bloody mouth and complained of stomach and chest soreness, according to police.

The woman is 12 weeks pregnant.

She told police that 42-year-old Brandon Shavor, the father of her unborn child, attacked her after a fight at Krakatoa Tropical Food and Spirits.

She said he grabbed her by the neck, pulling her out of the restaurant, and carried her to the Days Inn, where he punched her in the face, chest and stomach.

She said he also threw drain cleaner that he brought with him in her eyes.

The woman said she was able to escape and call 911 but Shavor pulled the phone off of the wall to prevent her from calling anyone else. She said he then continued punching her.

Police said Shavor had been charged with domestic violence against the woman in the past, but she dropped charges because she believed that he would change.

Shavor was arrested but was first taken to the hospital for treatment of swelling over his eye, which police believed he received during a fight with another person at Krakatoa.

He’s charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.
