LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) — Police were at a home in Liberty Saturday where two people were found dead.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Murray Hill Drive at around 1:30 p.m.
The yard was blocked off while Liberty Police, BCI and the coroner were on scene.
Liberty police said the bodies of a man and woman were found in the house. They were notified when a family member called police.
The Trumbull County Dog Warden removed one dog from the home.
Neighbors say they are shocked and that the street and neighborhood are usually quiet. One neighbor said she knows just about everyone on the block by name and it’s a tight-knit community.
“We’re all just like, ‘What? How could this happen? This is Murray Hill Drive. This is probably one of the safest streets you could live on in Liberty,” said neighbor Amber Gallagher-Schranz. “To have it happen on such a main route in Liberty that everybody frequents, the students are constantly walking up the street, it’s a busy street during school season.”
Liberty Chief of Police Toby Meloro said he could not confirm whether or not police suspect foul play or if they are investigating this incident as a homicide. He said he is waiting for the coroner’s ruling to come back before he can say.
