Police: Suspected heroin, sex devices found in Youngstown traffic stop

Two men from Berlin Center are facing drug charges

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Two men from Berlin Center were arrested and are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Youngstown.

According to a police report, officers on patrol at about 5:40 p.m. Monday saw Andrew McDermott fail to signal a turn off of Shady Run Road onto Midlothian Boulevard.

Officers tried to pull McDermott over but said he continued to drive with police in pursuit until he turned onto Lemoyne Avenue and stopped the car.

When officers searched the car, they said they found a bag that McDermott claimed was his. It had a digital scale, several Ziploc bags, Vaseline, several sexual devices and a glass pipe inside, police said. 

Officer said they also found a syringe inside a Ray Bans sunglasses case inside the car.

Police also discovered a wallet on the passenger seat where McDermott's passenger, 23-year-old Stephen McDermott, was sitting that contained suspected heroin, according to a report. 

Stephen McDermott was charged with drug possession and Andrew McDermott was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
