WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police said an Akron man sped through Warren, not stopping for officers, while he had a 2-year-old child in the car.
Officers began following 47-year-old Brandon Reed just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after reporting that Reed pulled in front of oncoming traffic on Youngstown Road.
Police said Reed then accelerated to a speed of more than 70 miles per hour.
Officers tried to catch up to Reed but were unable to get close to him until he pulled into a driveway on Milton Street. Police said Reed then got out of the car and was holding the toddler.
Police noted in their report that there was no car seat inside the vehicle.
Reed was charged with driving under suspension, reckless operation and endangering children.
