YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police say a man accidentally shot himself in a Youngstown home on Tuesday while he said he was fixing the gun for a friend.
The man was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the thigh. Police said it seemed like the bullet also grazed his palm.
During their investigation, police found that the man had a warrant for his arrest out of Cuyahoga County and a past conviction for kidnapping, which would prohibit him from having a weapon.
Police said when the man shot himself, there were a lot of people inside the E. Laclede Avenue home, including two kids.
Officers took the gun.
