PULASKI TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – Police say a man reported missing from Pulaski Township in Lawrence County Thursday has been found dead.
Eugene Ross, 74, left his home on Rayner Road at about 2 p.m. Thursday on an ATV.
His wife said that was not unusual because he liked to go out and search for hunting spots.
When he didn’t come home Thursday night, she notified police.
On Friday morning around 10, Pulaski Township police confirmed finding Ross’ body.
They believe he went over an embankment when he hit his head on the handlebars of the ATV and fell off into a small creek, leading to deadly injuries.
Investigators had been searching the area near Ross’ home, even bringing in a chopper and K9s to help in the search that lasted more than 12 hours.
Police said the woods and cold temperatures didn’t help the search — there were no tire marks from the ATV because the ground was frozen solid.
Ross also had a medical condition so an autopsy will be conducted to determine exactly how he died.
