BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A young man from Boardman is sitting in the Mahoning County Jail charged with murder after a shooting early Thursday morning.
It happened at a home in the 5500 block of West Boulevard, near the intersection with Mill Creek Boulevard. Around 1 a.m., a frantic call to Boardman 911.
911 caller: “Breathe, bro. Breathe, bro.”
Police responded after the caller told dispatchers he and a friend were walking down the street when someone shot at them.
911 caller: “We had to carry him into the house.”
Dispatcher: “5515 West? Is he injured?”
911 caller: “Yes.”
Throughout the call, the dispatcher can be heard repeating questions over and over, trying to gather information.
Dispatcher: “I need to know, did you see who shot him?”
911 caller: “No, no, no, no, it was a black car.”
Dispatcher: “A black car?”
911 caller: “It was a black car.”
Officers found 18-year-old Kane Wiesensee inside the house, shot in the chest.
He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s but died a short time later.
Investigators took 19-year-old Emmanuel Boyd, who lives at the house, into custody. He faces a murder charge and is being held on a $250,000 bond. He has a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Officials spent most of the day processing the scene and have not yet released any information on what happened or why.
