YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — One person is dead following a shooting at a North Side gas station.

Police responded to the Logan Gas Mart a little before 9 p.m. Friday on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found shell casings and blood, but the victim and suspect were gone.

Police say the suspect, Jacques Peterman-Oliver drove himself and the victim to the Youngstown Police Station downtown.

Once there, the suspect was taken into custody and the 36-year-old male victim was pronounced dead. Police say the victim and Peterman-Oliver did know each other.

Police had the gas station taped off for several hours, and at least seven evidence markers could be seen on the ground. Police also had Saranac Avenue blocked off.

At this time, it’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
