Police have arrested a suspect that they believe robbed the McDonald’s in Austintown on Tuesday.
Officers arrested Jawwaad Pusey at Walmart on Mahoning Avenue, where they say he was trying to make returns without a receipt. Police said he was there around 7 a.m. Wednesday and he was getting hostile with employees.
“He’s been doing it for quite a while, so the policeman was well aware of the fact that we were looking for this individual and that there were warrants, and he was very familiar with the car that he was looking for as well,” said Austintown Police Detective Sgt. Jordan Yacavone.
The officer had to use a Taser on Pusey to get him under control, according to investigators.
Police said they were able to tie Pusey to the robbery of McDonald’s.
Around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, the robber pulled a gun on an employee and made off with $70.
Police said prior to the robbery, he tried to return food to McDonald’s, but he didn’t have a receipt for that either.
Pusey is charged with aggravated robbery. He’s being held in the Mahoning County Jail.
