Plans going forward at Youngstown Chill Can, hiring begins next summer

Local News

After a short hiatus, work at the Chill Can Plant on Youngstown’s East Side has resumed.

Workers were installing marble tiles Thursday on the entryway sign.

Company Owner Mitchell Joseph said he also met with Ohio Edison and got electric service to the plants squared away.

Joseph said the Youngstown plant was put on hold for a few months as two smaller plants in California and England were retooled for two major clients. That soft launch went well, he said.

“Summer of 2019 we are going to distribution here and light production. We will gear up from there,” Joseph said.

Hiring for the plant will start next summer.
