LOWELLVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – A pedestrian was hit by a train and killed in Lowellville Friday evening.
Authorities have identified the victim as 39-year-old Sarah Medvec, a Lowellville resident.
Police were called to the intersection of McGill and W. Liberty Streets around 7:15 p.m.
The freight train traveling westbound struck her when she was traveling eastbound.
The train was stopped on the tracks for an extended period of time.
When the coroner was called in to investigate, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Canfield, they found her deceased. The case is still being investigated.
