Penn State Shenango associate professor receives geriatric specialist certification

An associate professor from Penn State Shenango was awarded a board certification in geriatric physical therapy.

Penn State Shenango associate professor Jennifer Jewell was awarded the certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties of the American Physical Therapy Association.

According to a press release, a board certification candidates need to prove clinical practice in one of nine specialty fields, including cardiovascular and pulmonary, clinical Electrophysiology, geriatrics, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, sports, and women’s health physical therapy.

Jewell and about 2,500 others were honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in January.
