According to a police report, officers pulled over the driver of a Toyota Prius, later identified as 31-year-old Joseph Myers, on Fulton Street for an improper turn, but Myers took off. The officer followed him for a short time at a high rate of speed but then terminated the pursuit on South Street, near Market Street.

A short time later, that same officer came upon a five-car accident at the intersection of Parkman Road and W. Market Street, where he saw that the car he had been chasing was part of the crash.

Another officer on scene saw Myers running behind a nearby Family Dollar and arrested him.

Myers faces resisting arrest, failure to comply and assault charges, although additional charges may be pending after the investigation.
