WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Donning blue, the staff at Trumbull County Children Services posed for a picture Wednesday morning.
It’s all part of Ohio Wears Blue Day.
Blue is the national color of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention, and the month of April is designated to raise awareness.
Employees at Children Services say bringing attention to child abuse is the start in preventing it.
“This is a reminder that it takes a whole community to keep kids safe so we count on neighbors, and grandma and grandpa, and certainly our law enforcement, and teachers to report any suspected cases of child abuse and neglect,” said Tim Schaffner, executive director of Trumbull County Children Services.
Just in Trumbull County last year, there were more than 1,800 reports of child abuse and neglect.
