MERCER CO., Pa. (WKBN) – The Mercer County Coroner’s Office has identified the 84-year-old man who was pulled out of Lake Latonka on Tuesday afternoon.

The coroner identified the man as Charles Deloe, of Pittsburgh.

According to a news release from the coroner’s office, Deloe was discovered unresponsive in the water at the boat dock. He had been fishing at the dock earlier in the day and lost his balance, falling into the water and hitting his head on the boat dock.

Mercer County Chief Deputy Coroner Robert Snyder pronounced Deloe dead at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday. The cause of death was ruled as an accidental drowning.

The private community in the area where the body was pulled from sits just north of Route 62 and less than 1 mile west of Interstate 79. It’s in both Coolspring and Jackson townships.
