Niles to begin $800,000 street and lighting project this spring

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Niles will spend around $800,000 this spring and summer upgrading the city.

According to the mayor, several streets will be resurfaced or have outside light fixtures upgraded to help make the city more sustainable.

The following streets will be resurfaced:
— Belmont Avenue (Mason Street to Thomas Street)
— Belmont Avenue (Robbins Avenue to Mason Street/Thomas Street to Bridge)
— Brentwood Boulevard (Andrea Boulevard to Kennedy Park)
— Brown Street (Third Street to First Street)
— Church Street (State Street to Main Street)
— Clinton Street (Cedar Street to Washington Avenue)
— Emmet Street (North Road to City Limits)
— Henry Street (Belmont Avenue to Mahoning Avenue)
— Lakeview Road (North Road to Trumbull Drive)
— Lantern Lane (Niles Vienna Road to Pepperwood Drive)
— Morningside Road (North Road to Trumbull Drive)
— Niles Vienna Road (State Route 422 to Nob Hill Drive)
— Robbins Avenue (Cleveland Street to City Limits)
— Shadowridge Drive (Niles Vienna Road to Tripodi Circle)
— Shaker Boulevard (State Route 422 to Mines Road)
— Taft Avenue (N. Rhodes Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue)
— Washington Avenue (State Route 46 to Frederick Street)
— West Street (E. Federal Street to George Street)

Alternate streets include sections of Maple Street, Clark Street and Nob Hill Drive.

The following streets will have LED lights installed:

— Summit Street
— Third Street
— Warren Avenue
— Washington Avenue
— Woodglen Avenue
