NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in Niles responded to a prosecutor’s report that no charges will be filed in an officer-involved shooting earlier this year.

The police department held a press conference Friday morning in which officers and the mayor went through the findings of the report.

“My sympathy is extended to everyone involved in this tragic incident. The process up to this point has taken a toll on all parties,” said Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz.

The officers involved have since been restored to full duty.
