Newton Falls mayor says businesses expressing interest in city

Local News

Newton Falls hosted its first ever State of the City Address on Wednesday.

Prior to the event, Mayor Lyle Waddell touted the city’s growth. He said there are a lot of positive things happening in Newton Falls.

Venture Plastics recently annexed to the city.

They’ve also hired a consultant to help market 440 acres of land off Route 5 annexed from Braceville and Newton Township.

Waddell said the city is moving forward.

“The only way that you can grow is to bring jobs and businesses to your community, and we haven’t done that for a long period of time,” he said.

Waddell said businesses are showing interest in Newton Falls. He believes that the city’s location near the Turnpike, demographics and low cost of living are all attractive factors.
