NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) - Police in New Castle arrested a suspect who they say accidentally killed a 15-year-old boy early Saturday morning.
At 1:36 a.m., officers were called to the 400 block of N. Liberty Street, where they found Zach Mulford dead from a gunshot.
Police said Mulford's friend was trying to attempt CPR on Mulford, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Mulford and his friend went to the house to see friends. Kyle Harris, 19, answered the door with a gun, but when he released who was at the door, he lowered the weapon, removing the clip from the gun and clearing the chamber.
Police said at that time, the gun discharged, and a bullet struck Mulford.
Harris ran out of the house before officers arrived, according to police.
He later turned himself in to officers, giving them the weapon, which was reported stolen, police said.
He is being charged with involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and receiving stolen property.
