CHAMPION, Ohio (WKBN) – A crash in Trumbull County Sunday sent a motorcycle driver to the hospital by medical helicopter.

Police say the victim, Gary Noel, was scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday.

The crash happened about 9:15 p.m. in the 4500 block of Mahoning Avenue.

According to a police report, Noel was heading north on Mahoning Avenue when the driver of a Jeep traveling in the opposite direction turned left into a gas station in front of him.

The driver of the Jeep told officers that he didn’t observe the motorcycle headed north, according to the report.
