Some young children in Trumbull County got a special delivery on Wednesday.
Students at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center (MCCTC) created some 3D playground equipment for kids at Potential Development Preschool in Howland.
The high school kids visited the classroom to learn about the needs of the Children’s Rehabilitation Center. They spent the last several months designing and creating the equipment.
“I did not expect us to get done with it or that it’d be this extravagant, but I’m glad we pushed forward and created something amazing for these kids to play on. Because it’s amazing seeing them, and I’m sure they enjoy it a lot more than we enjoyed putting it together,” said MCCTC student Macie Schrecengost.
Kids at Potential Development are all diagnosed autistic and non-verbal. The playground equipment gives them a hands-on experience and helps with sensory issues.
