Man killed in north side Youngstown shooting identified

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in Tuesday’s shootout on the north side of Youngstown.

Savon Young, 25, was killed during the shooting in the 100 block of Tod Lane.

Police said 60 shots were fired.

They said multiple vehicles and weapons were involved.

Witnesses reported seeing people run out of the vehicles and through backyards.

Officers didn’t know if Young was targeted or if he was an innocent bystander. They would not say if he had a gun on him.

No one has been arrested, but police have an idea of the vehicle they’re looking for.
