WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting that hurt a man and dog.

Police got a call about five shots fired near Logan Avenue around 5 a.m. Thursday, according to a report.

Officers investigating the shooting saw that a house in the 900 block of South Street had a broken front window and there were several shell casings on the porch.

Police said a hysterical woman answered the door and a dog that was bleeding from one of its hind legs ran outside.

Officers said inside, a 47-year-old man was lying on the floor, saying he had been shot in the back.

EMTs found that the man hadn’t been shot, but there were two pieces of glass in his back.

Police said the woman had also been hit with shards of glass.

They noted in their report that there was a large pool of blood in the doorway leading to the kitchen. No one else was inside the house.
