Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office confirm passing of deputy

MAHONING CO., Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office announced the passing of Deputy William “Bubba” Walker in a Facebook post on Monday.

They say he was a 35-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps where he served multiple tours in the Vietnam War.

He was currently assigned to the Environmental Crimes Unit and worked with the City of Youngstown and the Mahoning County Green Team.

“It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Deputy William “Bubba” Walker. Bubba was a 35 year veteran of the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office. Bubba was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving multiple tours in the Vietnam War. Bubba’s current assignment was with the Environmental Crimes Unit working with the City of Youngstown and the Mahoning County Green Team. Please join us in extending our thoughts and prayers to his family as well as his Law Enforcement family. He will be sadly missed.”
